Relish

This portrait of Kim Searle was made for a new company called Relish founded by Kim Searle and Wendy Makepeace-brown. This is how Wendy described the shoot.

"We wanted to capture "natural" Kim as her new business Relish is all about people being able to be who they really are. Kim isn't a big fan of photography and would be the first to admit that she gets bored easily so we worked quickly with an outfit change and she ended up with this which has now made it onto her website www.relishpeople.co.uk."

Portraiture to enhance self-esteem

I specialise in portraiture to enhance self-esteem enabling you to see yourself in a new light.

The professional portrait sitting at my purpose built studio near Ropley in Hampshire is a relaxing, enjoyable and empowering experience. The portrait process starts with a consultation about a week before the sitting. We explore together the look you want to achieve and the style of images that might work best for you. We also discuss the outfits and accessories you will bring and can consider options for hair and make up stylists. I prefer to do this in the studio so that you will feel familiar with the photographic environment at the sitting.

I make the portrait sitting itself an interactive experience. You can view the images as they are taken so we work together to create the pictures you want. A sitting normally takes one and a half hours so there is plenty of time to try different styles and poses.

And you do not have to choose your final prints immediately. The images from the shoot are placed in a private web gallery. I email the link to you so that you can you make your selection in your own time. If you would like to, you can forward the web gallery link to family and friends for their opinions. Once you have made your choice, we can finalise presentation, framing and dispatch options.

Welcome!

Welcome to my new website. I hope you find something of interest here. Please feel free to contact me with comments about the site as it is very new and feedback is most welcome.

The idea of the blog page is to add short descriptions of each picture or general comments or tips about photography and the use of images. These will be added over the next few days and weeks - I am just learning how to do this - so there are not many descriptions or tips yet! I do apologise if you have clicked on "the story behind" and found yourself here.

To return to where you were please use the back button on your browser or to return to the home page use the newhill photography link. Thank you for visiting my site. I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards, Richard

Adrienne

Adrienne spent some time in the studio getting used to the environment. This was taken near the end of the session when she was quite relaxed. I think this makes a good black and white portrait particularly as the crisp frame of her glasses contrasts with her soft skin.

If a picture could paint..

...a thousand words then why am I typing this?
